Condolences on behalf of Andrey Kostin, president and chairman of VTB Bank

 

I’ve learned of the passing of Anshu Jain, the former co-CEO of Deutsche Bank, with great sadness.

Mr Jain devoted his entire professional life to working in the financial sector, starting out as a talented Wall Street trader and becoming an outstanding leader of one of the largest financial institutions in Europe.

He was one of the first Western bankers who saw great potential in the development of the investment banking business in Russia and helped in many ways to unlock it. During the first, very important stage of its establishment, VTB Capital had the opportunity to position itself and rely on the professional school and the talented team of Anshu Jain.

I’ve interacted with Anshu on a wide range of business and professional topics many times. He has always had a bright, deep and unconventional approach to any issues. All of us will miss his intelligent farsightedness. Especially today.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Anshu's family, his friends, colleagues and everyone who knew him.
